Make sure you’ve got a print out of all Airline tickets (some countries require round trip ticket for entry)
Make sure you’ve got correct visas for the country you are visiting and that your passport is valid
Passports – check the expiration date two months before your trip
Get the proper Vaccinations done
Take a print out of Tickets, Travel and Hotel reservations, and list of other important contact numbers. Take your important documents and money in a wallet or purse that you can access at all times
Make sure to take Travel insurance which is valid for the entire duration of your trip
Take some identity proof such as Driver’s license and insurance cards (leave unnecessary cards at home)
Take some passport size photos. You may need a photo to obtain passes, permits, etc.
Take enough money or foreign currency (Currency, Forex cards). Carry some cash hidden for emergency purposes
Take only important keys with you like – house keys. Leave unnecessary keys at home
Get an understanding of the weather expected at the places you are travelling to decide on appropriate clothing
Stop the newspaper and mail
Check the refrigerator and discard foods that will spoil if you are gone for several days
Arrange for someone to water your plants and take care of your pets
Make sure that luggage has a tag with your name, address, and telephone number

Shirts, tops, pants, dresses, hats, coats, sweaters, rain protection – travel umbrella or raincoat
Toiletries, cosmetics, shaving needs, deodorant, shampoo, contact lens preparations
Slippers, sleeping bag, backpack
Voltage converter, flashlight, travel alarm clock, hair drier, camera, batteries, Cell phone and charger
Medicines such as First Aid, aspirin or analgesic, decongestant or cold medication, antiseptic spray, anti-diarrheal, mosquito repellent, anti-itch cream, any other special medications
